Mike Turnbull

Mike Turnbull, Drama Teacher

Having graduated from a BMus in Jazz, Popular and Commercial Music in 2001 and then from the MA Acting course at East15 Acting School in 2005 Mike has combined his knowledge of music, acting and theatre to focus on Musical Direction and Vocal Coaching. He started this career path at the Canal Café Theatre where he has frequently worked on the record breaking topical sketch show News Revue (15 Seasons).

Mike has enjoyed a busy 2010, both as a teacher and as a Musical Director – the highlight of which was conducting Beauty and the Beast. A trip to Malta, in the summer, to lead vocal workshops from the fantastic musical Legally Blonde followed. A Glee workshop and a trip to South-end to play keyboards on the Palace’s in-house production of The Wiz concluded the summer’s fun before beginning work as Musical Director for the Anna Fiorentini Theatre and Film School’s 10th Year Anniversary show, which he is very proud to be part of.

Other Musical Direction credits include: A Marvellous Party (PBW Productions), Beauty and the Beast (Secombe Theatre), The Invention Cycle (Landor Theatre), Snow White (Carriageworks Theatre), Almost Grown (Leicester Square Theatre), Seussical the Musical (Secombe Theatre), Aladdin (Carriageworks Theatre), UND (Court and Spark Theatre), Christmas Carol (Humble Theatre), Honk! (Beck Theatre), Watch This Space – The Alternative Village Fete (National Theatre), Tell Me On Thursday (Etcetera Theatre).
