Meet Claire Amias
Claire, one of our film (acting for screen) teachers, trained at RADA and Bretton Hall. She has worked extensively on stage and screen, and brings this knowledge to her workshops.
On screen Claire has played main supporting roles in numerous feature films including Ms. Conrad in Telling Lies (alongside Jason Flemyng and Melanie Brown), the Young Nurse in Provoked (which starred Miranda Richardson and Robbie Coltrane), and Beattie in The Magic Hour. She recorded the voice overs for a series of BBC Doctor Who DVD featurettes, Tomorrow’s Times, and she played the role of Josie Bening in the popular German TV series Rosamunde Pilcher (ZDF) which has been broadcast in 30 other countries world-wide. She has also worked in many commercials, music videos and short films.
Claire has taught Acting for Screen at stage schools and as a private acting coach. She has worked one-on-one with young actors starting out on their first professional feature film or TV role, and with groups of children who are wanting to learn a new skill for fun.
She has led acting workshops for the Ambassador Theatre Group on numerous workshops attached to West End Shows, and she has also led acting workshops for the Donmar Warehouse along-side the Phylida Lloyd all-female production of Julius Caesar which starred Harriet Walter and Frances Barber.
